Pilates Classes Over 50 Eastbourne

Find the way of moving that feels right for you

Three ways to practise, in a friendly hall, one to one, or from your own living room.

Whichever you choose

You’ll never be asked to keep up.

Every class is built around options, so you can work at a level that suits your body that day, and change your mind tomorrow if you need to. Whether you’re brand new or returning after years away, you’re in exactly the right place. Come as you are, chat as much as you like (I do keep a little bell for when it gets too lively!), and leave feeling a bit better than when you arrived.

Most people simply book the £25 trial and come along, four classes to feel the difference before committing to anything. If you’d rather have a quick chat on the phone first, or there’s something you’d like me to work around, that’s absolutely fine too.

Most popular

Group Pilates classes

Mat-based classes designed for the over 50s, though members range from 35 to 85. They develop real strength and stability, working the body in all planes of movement, with exercises that stretch and strengthen the major muscle groups, and the occasional band or piece of equipment to help you get more from each move.

There’s a mix of levels, beginner, mixed and improver, and I’ll happily modify anything that isn’t quite possible for you today.

What to expect

Come ready to get the most from each move. It’s gently challenging, I’ll tweak exercises to suit you, and adapt around any particular concern, always keeping you safe and included.

What to bring

Dress for comfort, not to impress, nobody dresses up here. I’d recommend layers: you’ll warm up more than you’d expect once we get going.

Tips during class

Always stay within your own range of movement, and never mind what anyone else is doing, everyone’s unique. Rest when you need to, stretch out, and most of all, enjoy it.

One to one

1:1 reformer sessions

One-to-one sessions in my home studio in Pevensey Bay, on the mat or the reformer, tailored entirely to you. Reformer work is wonderful for rehab, it lets you exercise in a horizontal plane rather than loading your body weight through your legs, so you can strengthen through a larger range of motion with lighter resistance. Ideal after an injury, around a specific concern, or if you’d simply like to learn the basics privately first.

What to expect

I build the session around your needs, then we work through the exercises in detail. Afterwards I’ll email a selection to practise every other day, it helps the method sink in and brings results faster.

What to bring

I provide everything for the session. If there’s anything specific to you, we’ll talk it through at your free assessment.

Tips during class

Listen to your body and don’t overdo it, the movements may be small, but they’re powerful. And do tell me if anything feels uncomfortable; I can always tweak it.
